RIM Playbook worth it?

Interesting article,RIM makes a play for its future, about RIM Playbook, a market which is dominated by Apple iPad. Discovered interesting facts about this new device:

* Designed in Waterloo, Canada.
* QNX OS running on Playbook was also a Canadian acquisition from Ottawa. This OS will also be the future OS for all RIM Smartphones & Superphones
* RIM started in Pager business with the introduction of a Inter@ctive Pager in 1995
* Lacks in the number of apps as the current apps for BB will not be able to run on Playbook without a patch which is going to be released in the near future.
* Partnership with Adobe, which allows Flash programmers to easily port their apps for Playbook use.
* 7 Inch screen, smaller than iPad

All the tablets being introduced require a mobile data plan to connect to internet(besides wifi connectivity), the Playbook needs to be tethered to the BB for connectivity. This was done to maintain the security model offered by the BES solution.

In short Playbook is designed for corporate client just like the BB keeping data security in mind, where as the Apple iPad and other Android based devices have little in terms of data security and are more for non-corporate user.

Neat concept, lets hope it picks up.
